high-calcium diet

Calcium supports healthy bones and teeth. Calcium is also necessary for many bodily functions such as musclesand nerves.

A high-calcium diet may be prescribed as a preventive measure and as a therapy for osteoporosis. Recommended daily requirements for adults are 1,000 to 1,200 mg per day.

Milk and milk products are the main source of calcium. It is also present in green vegetables (e.g. broccoli and green cabbage), herbs, nuts and mineral water. Requirements are easily met by standard ovo-lacto-vegetarian nutrition.

Dussmann Service ensures that daily requirements are met by the foods and beverages provided in meal plans developed for care catering operations.
